Start your crochet journey with confidence at our Magic Makers – Crochet for Complete Beginners, a structured, hands-on, in-person learning programme designed especially for absolute beginners. Over 4 interactive sessions, you will learn the fundamentals of crochet step by step — from holding the hook and yarn and making your first stitches to reading simple crochet instructions and completing your very first crochet project. Conducted in a small, supportive batch of just 5 participants at Magic Needles Studio, Mumbai, this course focuses on building a strong crochet foundation so you can confidently continue with beginner-friendly projects on your own.

What You Will Learn

Throughout the 4 sessions, you will gradually build your crochet skills by learning:

Session 1 – Getting Started
• How to hold the crochet hook and yarn
• How to make a slip knot
• How to crochet foundation chains
• How to make single crochet stitches
• How to work in rows

Session 2 – Stitches & Crochet Instructions
• Introduction to Half Double Crochet (HDC), Double Crochet (DC), Treble Crochet (TR), and Slip Stitch (SL ST)
• Crochet stitch symbols and common abbreviations
• How to read simple written crochet instructions

Session 3 – Shaping & Starting a Project
• How to increase stitches
• How to crochet a flat circle
• Understanding stitch placement and counting stitches
• How to start a crochet project

Session 4 – Project Session

• How to properly finish a project and weave in the ends
• Doubt-solving and project completion

During the course, you will work towards creating your own crochet bottle holder while applying the techniques learnt across the 4 sessions.

• This course is specially designed for absolute beginners with little or no crochet experience. No prior knowledge is required.

What skills are required?

• No previous crochet skills are required. The course starts from the basics and gradually builds your skills across the 4 sessions.

Which languages are used?

• Instructions are available in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati.

What if I’m late or miss a class?

• Please arrive on time. Since each session builds upon the previous one, regular attendance is strongly recommended.
• Missed classes cannot be rescheduled individually.
• Participants who miss a session will be responsible for catching up before the next scheduled class.

What is the refund policy?

✔ Cancel at least 3 days before the first class to receive a full refund as store credit.
✘ No refunds or credits for cancellations made after this period.
✘ Once the course has commenced, missed or unattended sessions are not eligible for refund, credit, or rescheduling.

Will I be able to crochet independently after this course?

• This course is designed to give you a strong foundation in crochet. By the end of the 4 sessions, you will understand the basic techniques, be able to read simple crochet instructions and patterns, and have the confidence to start beginner-friendly projects on your own.
• Like any new skill, crochet improves with regular practice, so we encourage you to continue practising the techniques learnt during the course.

Will I complete the bottle holder during the course?

• The course is structured to help you work towards completing a crochet bottle holder during the 4 sessions.
• Individual completion time may vary depending on your learning pace, crochet tension, and practice between classes.
• The primary objective of the course is to help you understand the techniques and build the confidence to continue independently rather than simply rush towards completing the project.

Will my project match the sample?

• Not necessarily—and that’s perfectly okay. Crochet is handmade, and every maker develops their own tension, stitch consistency, and technique over time. Your first project may look slightly different from the sample. The focus of this course is on learning correctly, practising consistently, and building confidence.

Are photos or videos taken during the course?

• Yes. By registering, you consent to photographs or videos taken during the classes being used for Magic Needles’ promotional materials, including social media, website, and brochures.
