Recycled Cotton Yarn by Hobby Store - Orange 8560

Hobby Store Recycled Cotton Yarn is made entirely from post-garment recycled cotton garments that would have otherwise been disposed of in landfills. In this process, there is no use of dyes or harmful chemicals, and very little water is used. Consequently, you now have the option of purchasing yarns that are environmentally friendly!

Our color range is limited, and that is on purpose; we have stayed true to the original colors of the cotton fabric and have not added chemical processes such as bleaching, dyeing, etc. As a result of the recycling process, the yarn has a soft matte finish with a slight tweedy appearance, which adds texture and interest to the finished fabric. Suitable for wearing against the skin, this yarn is appropriate for tops, sweaters, cardigans, scarves, hats, beanies, gloves, handbags, and more.

Although recycled cotton is durable, it does have some limitations in terms of longevity because it is a natural fabric - it is not tear-resistant or abrasion-resistant. Due to the shorter length of recycled cotton fibers which result from mechanical recycling, recycled cotton is not as durable as virgin cotton.
